Neil deGrasse Tyson on making America smart again

Right after the election astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about the cosmic view, live, immediately after the election. It’s still worth seeing, both entertaining and inspiring.

There are three clips below, with a total running time under 10 minutes and 49 seconds:

  • A brief cold open from the top of the show,
  • Tyson’s introduction (ending with reading a short quotation from Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell on what he’d like to say to a politician he’d dragged out to the Moon by the scruff of the neck to show him what the Earth looks like from there), and
  • Tyson’s take on our four-year mission to make America smart again.
