Riding the subway in New York and other cities you occasionally encounter a panhandler who calls for passengers’ attention, describes his misfortunes, and sometimes performs a song or otherwise encourages donations. Anyone who’s experienced that will appreciate this variation, in which a guy informs the other occupants of the car that he’s doing pretty well. (This cup, he explains at one point, is not for change. He just finished his latte, and he refuses to litter.) Also, you should visit the Grand Canyon. The views are spectacular. The passenger reactions are particularly worth seeing.
