Great video of the night sky in motion

In this excellent set of video clips made on Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, astrovideographer Daniel López has added a new twist to time-lapse video of the night sky: Moving the camera during the shot with a motion-control mount. The following short video, which was featured on NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day page on May 8, shows both the moving images themselves and views of the equipment to show how the shots were achieved. Very much worth a look.

For more, see the video’s Astronomy Picture of the Day page, or the one at Vimeo, which has an explanation in both Spanish and English.
