Bender the Robot Elected to Washington DC school board

According to PC World, the Washington DC election officials dared anyone to try to hack into its secure web-based absentee voting system. A professor in Michigan and a couple of grad students did so, flipping all the votes to write-in candidates, including the drunken robot from the animated television series Futurama.

In the meantime they discovered that other attempts to break into the system were coming from foreign countries, so they blocked those attempts and made the system more secure before leaving.
