Scott Brown website plagiarizes Liddy Dole

This is just weird. According to The Boston Globe, a message to students from Senator Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts) on his own website is in fact lifted verbatim from a major speech by former Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-North Carolina) delivered in 2002 at the start of her campaign.

Well, actually, the borrowing wasn’t quite verbatim. Whoever was responsible did leave out the first sentence, “I am Mary and John Hanford’s daughter.”

I doubt the culprit is Senator Brown himself, since like most politicians facing reelection he’s likely too busy raising campaign contributions to bother with writing his own inspiring messages.
