The frequently excellent web comic XKCD takes issue with those who complain about excessive use of cameras:

Fair enough, but this doesn’t apply to complaints about interfering with others, as when people in front of you hold their cell phones in the air and block your view, or shoot flash photos when explicitly asked not to (often when it does no good because the subject is too far away).
