Dynamic wind map

If you haven’t yet taken a look at the moving Wind Map of the United States, this is an excellent time to pay a visit.

The wind appears as moving streaks on a dark gray background. The brighter an area, the windier it is.

Hover your mouse pointer somewhere and and a little rectangle will pop up to tell you the latitude, longitude, and wind speed at that location. Click and the map will zoom in.

You can easily see the effects of Hurricane Sandy on almost the entire U.S. east of the Mississippi.

Definitely worth checking out.
