Increased barriers to voting

A brief New York Times article published October 20 gives an overview of how state legislatures are making it harder to vote. This includes restricting early voting, making it harder to register, and imposing strict voter-ID requirements supposedly to combat voter impersonation (which is virtually non-existent) while doing nothing to stop absentee-ballot fraud and vote-buying (which are much more common).

Comments are moderated, which can take up to a day (rarely even two), so please be patient. I welcome agreement, disagreement, and corrections on anything from substance to spelling. I try to weed out spam and anything defamatory or pointlessly insulting (to anybody), unless of course I think it's really funny.
