Star Trek theme park coming to Jordan

A Star Trek theme part is coming to a seaside resort in the Middle Eastern country of Jordon, according to this article from The National, an English-language newspaper in the United Arab Emirates.

Britain’s Daily Mail reports that the project, to be built in Aqaba and called the Red Sea Astrarium, has secured $1.5 billion in funding.

According to Inhabit, a website about “green” design, the theme park will be powered by alternative energy. The article includes a photo of King Abdullah from his days as a young prince and Star Trek fan, when he had a role as an extra on Star Trek: Voyager.
