To start this morning today, here right now are some highlights from Last Week Tonight, which will return from a couple of weeks’ hiatus tomorrow evening.

(Apologies if the preceding sentence disrupts the flow of time around you. In my defense, HBO’s web page for the show has an item headed “Watch the Previous Weeks’ Last Week Tonights” and that’s not much better than what I wrote.)

Incidentally, HBO isn’t paying me (or even giving me free HBO) to keep talking about Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. (Figure dem odds, as an old Navy buddy of mine used to say.) I just think it’s one of the best investigative journalism shows on television on top of being entertaining.
