The Daily Show on Obamacare last year

In a post yesterday I mentioned Betsy McCaughey (pronounced McCoy), the former New York lieutenant governor best known for spreading falsehoods about the Affordable Care Act back in 2009. Here she is (very, very briefly) in a segment from Comedy Central’s The Daily Show broadcast 2014 September 11 (running time five minutes):

Incidentally, I still encounter people who complain that Obamacare premiums are too high. If so, the blame should go to the private insurance companies that set the rates. (The federal government does not, though state insurance departments often have a say.) Premiums are actually lower than projected when the law was passed and in line with those for group insurance policies. Moreover, the great majority of people who buy the coverage pay less than the full price because they qualify for subsidies based on their income.
