Running through the rain

Here’s something many of us ponder at some point: Do you get wetter walking through the rain or running, given that running causes you to hit more drops per second from the side? The answer isn’t terribly surprising — you’re better off going faster rather than slower — but just why that is might not be clear. Here’s a nifty explanation:

  1. The rain that hits my windshield when I’m driving as opposed to idling makes the answer clear to me. Who needs a study?
