Investigative book on the Obama stimulus

I haven’t yet read my copy of Michael Grunwald’s The New New Deal on the Obama stimulus, but I did just read Ryan Cooper’s review of it in The Washington Monthly, and it looks quite interesting. Unlike other journalists covering the act, Grunwald set out to discover not just how the stimulus bill was passed but how it was structured, what it achieved, and how well it was run. in the end he identified a number of significant problems and shortcomings in the stimulus itself and in how it was implemented in practice, but in general Grunwald’s take on it is pretty favorable, and Cooper’s review of the book is also positive.
