Impressive short video of the night sky

If you regularly check NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day you probably already saw this yesterday, but if not it’s definitely worth a couple of minutes of your time.

It’s a series of night-time time-lapse images of the moving night sky as seen from some very dark locations on the coast of Western Australia and Chile, showing blowing clouds, the Milky Way, the Magellanic Clouds (companion galaxies to our own), an erie, stylized, seaside sculpture of a human figure, and a great deal more. For details, see this page on Vimeo.

Among other things, watching this suggests what those of us who live in brightly-list cities are missing.
